Israel's Next King(s)

One of these "kings" will be very bad.
The following King (Yeshua) will be the best.

There is a big different between secular opinions about Israel's history, and what the Bible records.
The average person has never learned about Israel's place in the world (which the Bible teaches.)

Synopsis

For two thousand years God been calling out from the world a special group (the true church). When the last of these true Christians has been brought into God’s family, that group will be taken en masse to a special place (New Jerusalem), to join Jesus there. A transitional period of at least seven years will follow. In Europe a revived form of the Old Roman Empire will follow, drawing together all the 195 nations of the world. Two powerful individuals will orchestrate these radical global changes. These two bad guys are known as “the beast and the false prophet.” The first man will unite all the governments of the world under his political, military and economic headship. See Babylon. for more about this coming world ruler and his activity.

This second bad guy will (I believe) draw together all the religions of the world into total devotion to the first beast. (“Antichrist” can mean the one who is comes instead of the real Jesus, not merely one who is against Christ.) I suggest the first beast will (at first) have his headquarters in Europe.

The #2 man will likely have his headquarters in Jerusalem, “…the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also  our Lord was crucified.” (Revelation 11:8)

In this time period the Jews will be free to build their Third Temple:

"Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there.  “But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two “And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”  These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.“ (Revelation  11:1-6)

The coming world religion probably can not be an extended Roman Catholic Church, which would offend the Jews. There has, however been a powerful Papal influence in Jerusalem, since 1217 AD. See Custody if the Holy Land.

This article suggests that the people of Israel will soon be persuaded to accept a fake messiah as their head of state.

To the Jews of his day, Jesus said,

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.  “But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.   “I do not receive honor from men.  “But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.  “I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.“ (John 5:39-43)

The people who would become the Jews are descendants of Abraham.
Their roots go back to the Semitic peoples in the Table of Nations.

Abraham was given a specific plot of land.
Two peoples, Israel and the true church built by Yeshua, are called the children of Abraham.

Israel political map

The Jews were scattered from their homeland after the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. This great scattering is called the Great Diaspora. It lasted 2000 years. The rich history of Israel during this long exile is a subject gentiles (us) should know about. The Jewish homeland became a waste land populated by a few nomadic Bedouin tribes. The Romans were the landlords then the Persians, Greeks, the Romans, finally the British. (See The Four Hundred Silent Years by Ray Stedman. World Wars 1 and 2 saw Britain and France involved and the winners both times.  Hitler and the Holocaust (the Shoah) outraged England, France, the United States while Jews everywhere yearned for a homeland. The Arabs were very unhappy with this talk, but finally a silver of land was granted to the Jews living outside the Land. Most were poor; arriving in the Land was difficult; the once fertile land was desert, swamp lands, barren.  Finally on May 14, 1948 David Ben Gurion proclaimed the creation of the sovereign state of Israel. The Arab  World immediately launched an attack from all sides. A A series of wars by her Arab neighbors has followed.

What style of government should the new state of Israel adopt? There were many to choose from with nearly 200 nations to choose from.
Was immediately obvious that monarchies never worked. Socialism and Communism were Considered but rejected. The U.S. was a bastion of freedom, but very inefficient with authority distributed to three branches. One leader in charge of day to day matters, but held in check by Legislative and Judicial bodies, The state of Israel adopted:

The Israeli system of governments based on parliamentary democracy. The Prime Minister of Israel is the head of government and leader of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government (also known as the cabinet). Legislative power is vested in the Knesset. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. The political system of the and its main principles are set out in 11 Basic Laws. Israel does not have a written constitution.

The president of the State is the de jure head of state of Israel. The position is largely an apolitical and ceremonial role, and is not considered a part of any Government Branch. The President's ceremonial roles include signing every law (except those pertaining to the President's powers) and international or bilateral treaty, ceremonially appointing the Prime Minister, confirming and endorsing the credentials of ambassadors, and receiving the credentials of foreign diplomats. The President also has several important functions in government. The President is the only government official with the power to pardon or commute prisoners. The President appoints the governor of the Bank of Israel, the president of the national emergency relief service Magen David Adom, and the members and leaders of several institutions. The President also ceremonially appoints judges to their posts after their selection.

Executive branch

The Prime Minister is the most powerful political figure in the country. The Prime Minister is ceremonially appointed by the President upon recommendation of party Representatives in the Knesset, and makes foreign and domestic policy decisions which are voted on by the cabinet. The cabinet is minicomputers, most of whom are the heads of government departments, though some are deputy ministers and ministers without portfolio. Cabinet ministers are appointed by the Prime Minister. The cabinet's composition must also be approved by the Knesset. The Prime Minister may dismiss cabinet members, but any replacements must be approved by the Knesset. Most ministers are members of the Knesset, though only the Prime Minister is required to be one. The cabinet meets weekly on Sundays, and there may be additional meetings if circumstances require it. Each cabinet meeting is chaired by the Prime Minister.

A select group of ministers led by the Prime Minister forms the security cabinet, responsible for outlining and implementing a foreign and defense policy. This forum is designed to coordinate diplomatic negotiations, and to make quick and effective decisions in times of crisis and war.

The Israeli government has 28 ministries, each of them responsible for a sector of public administration. Many ministries are located in the Kiryat Ben Gurion Government complex in the area of Givat Ram in Jerusalem. Each ministry is led by a minister, who is also a member of the cabinet and is usually a member of the Knesset. The Office of the Prime Minister coordinates the actions of the work of all government ministries, and serving and assisting the Prime Minister in his daily work.

The State Comptroller, which supervises and reviews the policies and operations of the government, is elected by the Knesset in secret ballot. They can only be removed from office by a two-thirds vote in the Knesset. In addition to their fiscal and operational oversight function, the State Comptroller also serves as a national ombudsman for the state, receiving complaints from the public about the actions of public officials and institutions.

Legislative branch

Knesset

Israeli Ministry of Finance, Jerusalem

The Knesset is Israel's unicameral legislature and is seated in Jerusalem. Its 120 members are elected to 4-year terms through party-list proportional representation electoral system, below), as mandated by the 1958 Basic Law: The Knesset seats are allocated among parties using the D'Hondt method of party list proportional representation. Parties select candidates using a closed list. Thus, voters select the party of their choice, rather than any specific candidate. Israel requires a party to meet an election threshold of 3.25%  to be allocated a Knesset seat. All Israeli citizens 18 years of age and older may participate in legislative elections, which are conducted by secret ballot.

As the legislative branch of the Israeli government, the Knesset has the power to enact and repeal all laws. It enjoys parliamentary supremacy, and can pass any law by a simple majority, even one that might arguably conflict with a Basic Law, unless it has specific conditions for its modification. The Knesset can adopt and amend Basic Laws acting through its capacity as a Constituent Assembly. The Knesset also supervises government activities through its committees, nominates the Prime Minister and approves the cabinet, and elects the President of the State and the State Comptroller. It also has the power to remove the President and State Comptroller from office, revoke the immunity of its members, and to dissolve itself and call new elections.

The February 2009 elections produced five prominent political parties; Kadima, Likud, Israel Beytenu Labor and Shas, each with more than ten seats in the Knesset. Three of these parties were ruling parties in the past. However, only once has a single party held the 61 seats needed for a majority government (the Alignment from 1968 until the 1969 elections). Therefore, aside from that one exception, since 1948 Israeli governments have always comprise coalitions. As of 2009, there are 12 political parties represented in the Knesset, spanning both the political and religious spectra. (Wikipedia).

Religion in Israel these days is a minority position. The religious affiliation of the Israeli population as of 2022 was 73.6% Jewish, 18.1% Muslim, 1.9% Christian, and 1.6% Druze. The remaining 4.8% included faiths such as Samaritanism and Baháʼí, as well as "religiously unclassified".

There is a saying among Jews, “When you see two Jews arguing you will find at least three opinions expressed.”

No wonder, Yeshua is called the King of Kings!

During the coming Gog/Magog war, God will show up in a clear, unmistakable way,
for whole earth to see. Mankind will see at last that their real enemy is Yahweh
I believe this war will take place soon after the Rapture.
The completed church well be in New Jerusalem with Yeshua

Because of His great love and mercy for everyone,
Yeshua will lead His 144,000 evangelists to every nation to make sure no one has any excuse!

Millions will come to Yeshua during those days.
We who are members of the true Church will "watch from the Mezzanine."

Two Aspects of the Returning of Yeshua

The Rapture and the Second Coming

parousia and epiphaneia

For this reason the Jews  persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them,  “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” Therefore the Jews  sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father,  making Himself equal with God. Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you,  the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For  the Father loves the Son, and  shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them,  even so the Son gives life to whom He will. For the Father judges no one, but  has committed all judgment to the Son,that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father.  He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. “Most assuredly, I say to you,  he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment,  but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when  the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For  as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have  life in Himself, and  has given Him authority to execute judgment also,  because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will  hear His voice and come forth— those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because  I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me." (John 5:16-30)

History Soon to Happen on Planet Earth

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5  Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 2 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.“ (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12)

Two Bad Guys: The Beast and the False Prophet

The Beast from the Sea

Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw  a beast rising up out of the sea,  having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a  blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the  feet  of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The  dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And  all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying,  “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”5 And he was given  a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for  forty-two months. 6 T hen he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name,  His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 t was granted to him  to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And  authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him,  whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain  from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity;  he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword.  Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. (Revelation 13:1-10)

The Beast from the Land

Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those  who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18  Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

The Credentials of Jesus

“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 “How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?  “Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.  “But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
From Ray Stedman: Jesus puts his finger on the true reason for stubborn unbelief. Why would a man read the truth, know it to be truth, know that it speaks of Jesus, know him to be who he claims to be, and still refuse to come to him? Jesus says the answer is because what he really wants is the praise of men, right now. Ambition, the deadly enemy of truth! Such a one wants glory now, not in heaven some day. He seeks fame, recognition, prestige. He wants to be treated with respect and reverence now. He loves the praise of men so much he is unwilling to set it aside to receive the glory of God. That is the problem, Jesus declares.

Our Lord adds there is a terrible danger in that: "I have come in my Father's name (with the witness of the Father to back me up and all this amazing corroborating evidence), yet you do not receive me. All right, another is coming in his own name (without any evidence other than his own claims), and you will receive him." Most scholars rightly feel that our Lord is here referring to the Antichrist. Jesus is saying that he came backed by the evidence of the Word, of the Spirit, and of the Father -- visible evidence. He came with the proper introduction -- John the Baptist opened the door, as it was predicted he would do -- yet they would not receive him. Very well, Jesus says, there is coming another Christ, making grandiloquent claims that he can do things for you that you have always wanted done, saying things you have always wanted to hear, and you will accept him, only to be betrayed by him. That is the danger of rejecting truth when you know it to be truth -- you open yourself up as a sitting duck for the next con man who comes along! Jesus is speaking prophetically here to Israel

His words are very plain: How can you believe when you are looking for your own advancement, when you are out to please yourself, when you are falling in with the philosophy of the world that is flung at you all the time, "Look out for yourself; stand up for yourself"? That philosophy is a denial that you have a Father who loves you, that Someone else is ready to work on your behalf if you will walk in his way. When you are committed to such a philosophy, how can you follow Jesus? These mutually exclusive concepts are apparent all through Scripture: you cannot love the world and love the Father; you cannot follow the Lord and the devil; you cannot drink the cup of God and the cup of demons. You cannot have it both ways. Now Jesus comes to the final end:

"Do not think I shall accuse you to the Father; it is Moses who accuses you, on whom you set your hope." (John 5:45 RSV)

It is amazing that the very one they said they were obeying -- and thus denying what Jesus was claiming -- is the one who will finally tell them they have ignored his words about Christ. Moses, whom they are using as their excuse to persecute Jesus, will instead become their accuser.

Many are in the same boat today. I have heard people say, "When I stand before God I will have a lot of things to say to him. I don't think he has treated me very well. I've had a bad deal in life and I'm going to tell him so." But on that day they will stand absolutely mute before God, their own memories testifying that he is right and they are wrong. Listen to these words:

"If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote of me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?" (John 5:46-47 RSV)

I submit that is a very radical principle. Most people think that if someone does not believe something, what he needs is more light on it. If a little information does not do the trick, we want to give more information. But Jesus declares that will not work. If you do not believe truth you now know, you will not believe greater truth when you hear it. If you do not respond to what you know to be true now, you will not respond when you hear further truth. That is what Jesus is saying. With that radical statement, Jesus brings his public discourse to a close.

Where does that leave us? We have the witness of the Father, the witness of John the Baptist, the witness of twenty centuries of testimony about the power of Jesus to deliver men and women, to free them from their chains, turn them around, heal them and make them whole people. Hundreds of thousands of voices bear witness to that fact. Where does that leave us, if we continue to pursue the empty voices of the world and seek for positions of power and influence apart from the will and the glory of God?

These are searching words. I cannot make them easy words because Jesus did not make them easy. But they are words that force us to face ourselves in the light of reality. Where are you going in life? What are you doing with it? This is a critical hour in history. No more critical hour has ever come. Let us face the choice which Jesus demands, and submit ourselves to His loving Lordship.

There is only way through the wilderness of this world!
It’s by following the Trailblazer Jesus Christ.
No one has the authority Jesus has.

“Nor is there salvation in any other,
for there is no other name under heaven given among men
by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12)

“I am the LORD, and there is no other;
There is no God besides Me.
I will gird you, though you have not known Me,
That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting
That there is none besides Me.
I am the LORD, and there is no other;
I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the LORD, do all these things.’

“Rain down, you heavens, from above,
And let the skies pour down righteousness;
Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation,
And let righteousness spring up together.
I, the LORD, have created it.

“Woe to him who strives with his Maker!
Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth!
Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?

Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What are you begetting?’
Or to the woman, ‘What have you brought forth?’ ”

 Thus says the LORD,
The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:
“Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons;
And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.

I have made the earth,
And created man on it.
I—My hands—stretched out the heavens,
And all their host I have commanded.“ (Isaiah 45:5-12)
